Joint Statement by the Gaelic Players Association and Show Racism the Red Card

Below is a statement from the GAA in regard to the racist incident in Carlow.

Two Shelbourne Supporters have been banned from Tolka Park for an indefinite period of time, following racist chants directed at visiting fans during the recent game with Millwall FC.

It is believed the long-standing Drogs fan, aged about 50 shouted ‘n****r’ and other racist comments at Drogheda’s Senegal-born striker Ibrahima Iyane Thiam during the recent home game against Sligo Rovers.
