Mark Chinese New Year in Dublin with Intercultural table tennis, badminton and basketball

You are invited to register or you may know someone interested to partipate in –International Table Tennis tournament/ International Badminton Tournament/ International Basketball Tournament to mark Chinese New Year with Dublin City CouncilThe events are not age specific, though there are specific children’s activities inthe Basketball.  They have been organised to help mainstream clubs make contact with immigrant and minority communities and for immigrant and minority communities to make contact with mainstream clubs.Please find attched three advertisements for events that you and your friends can participate in to mark the Chinese New Year.  Show Racism the Red Card, Dublin City Council and the Chinese Sports and Cultural Association together with the Shining Emerald newspaper have teamed up again to host a number of events to support integration through sport.Basketball Ireland, Badminton Ireland and the Leinster Table Tennis League are the organisers of each tournament.  You can register as an individual or as part of a group. While the tournaments are open to all and the emphasis is participation rather than competition, last year the events were oversubscribed.  Therefore we would ask that you please make contact in order to register.  You can register by contacting any of the contacts at the Council, Show Racism the Red Card or the Shining Emerald newspaper listed below in the attached document.The events are onSunday 18th January – BasketballSaturday 31st January- Table TennisSunday 1st February – BadmintonKim Fitzpatrick – Hen Suo- Frank@0086.ieGerard Carty – Gerard.Carty@dublincity.ieGarrett Mullan- info@theredcard.ieShow Racism the Red Card is a non-governmental organisation with charitable status.  We produce anti-racism education resources harnessing the profile of sport to convey a powerful message.  We also work to support intercultural activity that provides pathway to integration.  For more information go to our website at the address below, where you can also make a donation.
