Excitement builds up in Anti-racism Competition

60 schools and youth services   from Carndonagh in north Donegal to Dunmanway Co Cork are registered for participating in the Show Racism the Red Card Creative Competition.The deadline for final entries is 25th February.  To get involved you must register first.  Click http://theredcard.ie/competition_register.phpWe want to give you a flavour of what is happening to capture just some of the excitement building up in our schools and youth services.Balbriggan Youth Service have just started work on developing their rap.  Foroige Youth Worker John Fitzgerald is supporting a group of 15 year olds in writing a rap DVD.Trinity Comprehensive Ballymun are planning on producing their very own anti-racism DVD, while St Pauls CBS just across the road from the SRTRC office on North Brunswick Street are producing a table top animation.Meanwhile out in Dublin 15, Blakestown Community school have integrated geography, art, home economics and PE into their entry.  Part of their effort to impact on the community involves their international cookbook.  Students from different backgrounds are contributing recipes from their own countries.  They have gone one step further in obtaining recipes from celbrities for their book also.More reports to follow!
