Oireachtas members and Diplomatic corp unite to Show Racism the Red Card on March 21st

  TDs and Senators from all political parties put aside their differences today and worked together as a team in a series of 5 aside games with staff from among others the US, Ukrainian, Polish and Lithuanian embassies to mark United Nations Anti Racism Day March 21st 2012. picture 1- Labour’s Ged Nash TD and Aodhan O Riordan TD with SRTRC Mascot Jeff the RefFormer Mayo County Manager John O’ Mahony TD, Labour’s  Aodhan O Riordán TD, Dominic Hannigan TD and Ged Nash TD and  Sinn Fein’s Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD all played today in a game organised  by Show Racism the Red Card to mark UN Anti Racism Day March 21st.  Also participating were representatives of the Polish and Ukrainian embassies, who brought the official EURO 2012 mascots to Ringsend.  The US and Lithuanian embassies also participated in today’s event.Wednesday March 21st is UN Anti-Racism Day.  In advance of Euro 2012 and Ireland’s participation this coming June in games in Poland and of course Ukraine, we hosted the game to mark the day involving members of the Oireachtas Senators and TD’s with staff from the Embassies.picture 2- Sinn Fein’s Aengus Ó Snodaigh, right, tackles Vadym Pancheno, Ukraine EmbassyMarch 21st- United Nations Day Against RacismMarch 21st was designated as the international day against racism by the United Nations as a day to focus on tacking racism across the world.
