Show Racism the Red Card need your help:Volunteer opportunities:Show Racism the Red Card has two types of volunteer opportunity currently open:A volunteer open meeting will be held if you wish to be involved.  It will take place at 6pm at our Office at 20 Mountjoy Square East, Dublin 1 on Wednesday 3rd April to prepare.

  • Events Management Team (10 volunteers needed)
  • Intercultural Summer Camp (8-10 volunteers needed)

Event Management TeamOn Wednesday 10th April, we host our annual awards exhibition at the AVIVA stadium in the Presidents Hall between 12noon and 2:30pm.500 young people from 25 schools will attend. We need volunteers to manage this and for volunteers to be available from 11am – 2:45pm.To do:Manage reception deskWelcome schools (2 people)Allocate and organise Exhibition boards (2 people)Ensure AV proceedings (1 person)Escort Jeff the Ref (1 person)Organise stadium tours liaise with stadium personell (1 person)Usher guests to event (1 person) eg to their seatsOrganise prizes for the schools and raffle (1person)2 others to help out.Other tasks include MC, Liaison with special guests, liaison with schools.To prepare for the event and to discuss other volunteer opportunities, we are hosting a preparation meeting on Wednesday 3rd April at 6pm at 20 Mountjoy Square.Ireland’s third most capped senior player Kevin Kilbane will be among our panel of special guests.This volunteer opportunity is ideally suited to those involved or looking to have experience in marketing, management, public relations and events management.http://theredcard.ie/news/?p=1346Intercultural Summer Camp We will need a team of 15 adult volunteers to deliver our 4th annual Intercultural Summer Camp.The purpose of the camp is to promote integration among young people through intercultural learning and fun activity to take place in the beautiful setting of West Donegal Adventure Centre, Aras Ghleann Cholm Cille Glencolmcille, Co Donegal.The trip is for up to 45 Boys or Girls aged 11-16 years old from North and South, and up to 15 volunteers.Volunteers will

  • deliver activities including; sports, cultural, language learning and logistics
  • support other volunteers to deliver on their activities
  • work as part of a preparation team to design a schedule for the camp that meets the needs of participants and programme
  • participate in Child Protection Training
  • participate in Team Building Training
  • promote the camp and encourage potential bookings

This volunteer opportunity is ideally suited to person who enjoys working with and being in the company of young people and has qualifications and or experience in childcare, social care, sports & leisure, policing, teaching, community and youth work as well as languages.www.theredcard.ie/camp.php
