Football Against Racism fortnight Ireland – Show Racism the Red Card reaches 7,000 young people

Show Racism the Red Card is working with the FAI to deliver the Football Against Racism in Europe fortnight of action 9th -23rd October.IMG_1219 copy

SRTRC has been co-ordinating activties at the grassroots level, organising a scheme of resource support to football clubs and youth services.  26 groups applied for support to deliver activities around the country.  It is expected that 2,200 will be involved in anti-racism football blitz events and workshops using the SRTRC education pack.Impacts at school levelsDuring FARE Weeks FAI Development Officers trained in the delivery of the Show Racism the Red Card Schools Education pack will roll out video presentations on the topic of racism along with Football based PE (Physical Education) sessions in over 100 primary and secondary level schools nationwide.
